by DeathNymph, 18 days ago***Raiding Rules as of 6.16.09***
The following are MANDATORY requirements you MUST have before being able to go on a raid with Obsidian Legion.
Ventrilo=
www.ventrilo.com (small stand alone program that allows the raid to stay in voice contact with each other even if the game crashes.
DBM= Deadly Boss Mods, addon that announces each boss attack to you or the raid.
OMEN= Threat Meter, its MUCH better than the added one that wow has provided. It will let you see the threat generated by ALL the people in the raid at the same time. So you can see if your threat is about to overcome the Tanks and you can back off etc.
Class Loot= **OPTIONAL**its an addon that the GM and officers use to determine who gear/items is better suited for. You DO NOT have to D/L this but it is a nice addon.
****GENERAL RULES****
Raid times are posted on Calendar "usually" a week prior to the raid. Check daily just in case one is added you want to attend. Raids are usually a "mass invite" so everyone within level range will be invited but does not neccessarily mean they will attend.
Raids will start at designated time. If you have signed up for a raid and are not on by the designated time, your spot may be forfeited to someone else at the Raid Leader/Officers discretion. If you have signed up that you WILL be attending and you are not online and ready to go at the time, your spot will be filled!!
The reason we will be enforcing this rule is this, its not to be hardcore, but to set a focused tone and prevent frustration of players before the raid even begins. It is not fair to the players who are on time and ready to go , and have them wait for the ones who are not prepared. Please be considerate and understanding of the rest of your raid team and do your best to be ready and on time.
If you are online and ready by start time of a raid and someone with a slot has not yet shown, you may be called upon to replace that latecomer. The RL/Officer will be keeping notes of the latecomers/no shows. Too many incidents and it may affect their chances of getting into future raids.
If an emergency comes up and you have to leave, cause lets face it, Real life does happen...Please inform the RL/Officer. Those who repeatedly sign up and leave after an hour or two will be made note of by RL/Officer. Too many incidents and it may affect their chance of getting into future raids.
***ELIGIBILITY***
To be considered for rotation spots within the group, you must be a MEMBER of Obsidian Legion, Probationary players will not be allowed to attend raids until they are ranked up. Being ranked up is done on the weekends and you must adhere and agree to Guild Bank rules. In some cases the GM/Officer/RL may make an exception.
New Players= Raid Leader may schedule players based upon thier experience. Please understand that learning and tackling new bosses requires a level of knowledge of the instance. Inexperienced players may be substituted in such a situation.
Newly recruited members may join us on trial raids and/or heroic runs. Raids will be on probationary basis if the new raider gives just cause to be removed from the raid, the leader will do so. Appropriate action may be taken, and a spot may not be assigned to them in the future.
***BEING PREPARED***
Being prepared for raids is not just "showing up". You must be repaired and at 100%. You must have enough flasks or elixirs for the ENTIRE raid. (usually 4-5 hours). Although we do bring and supply fishfeasts, there may not be anyone in the current raid to prepare it, so it is your responsibility to make sure you have your own buff food also for these occasion. Also, reagents for your buffs/spells, and in proper gear. We will NOT wait for you to make trips to Auction house to get said items ..NO exceptions!! If you come to a raid and are NOT prepared. You will be removed from group and it may hinder your chance of being reinvited in the future.
*** BEHAVIOR DURING RAIDS***
During raids, you MUST follow the RL at all times. He/she should be the sole voice of Authority dury raids. Suggestions are welcome following wipes but DO NOT argue with the RL. Doing so will result in immediate removal from the raid. You must also notify RL or an Officer before you go AFK. If you repeatedly go afk without telling Off/RL you will be removed from the raid or you may not be reinvited to future raids.
OF course if you've never done the encounter before, or don't understand the instructions, ASK QUESTIONS!!! The only stupid questions are the ones never asked!!
We want everyone to have fun, some individuals concept of "fun" may differ from anothers. That being said, if an Off/RL asks for it to STOP, make it so.
There will be NO fighting, of ANY kind. There are Absoluetly NO EXCEPTIONS to this. Everyone will treat everyone else with dignity and respect. IF there are issues , there is a time and a place to deal with them. You may whisper RL/OFFicer if you have problems or need assistance with any issue.
****REPAIRS****
The Guild will pay for repairs for "Progression Raids". During the raid the RL will designate repair times at which , either repair bots will be placed or everyone will go and repair. At this time Guild repairs will be turned on. After repairs are done, Guild Repairs will be turned back off.
Do NOT come to a raid damaged from previous engagements. If you do and try to repair using Guild Bank and get caught or suspected of doing so, you may be removed from the raid , have repairs supsended, demoted, not reinvited to future raids, or even removed from the guild.
*****INVITES*****
Invites, they will depend on many things, Attitude, Senority, helpfulness within the guild, dedication, being on time, prepared, being active, being able to stay full length of raid and prior raids. All of these will be taken into consideration but final decisions are made by Raid Leader /Officers and GM. Also, to prove you have read this, you need to whisper HolyNymph at anytime and say one of the following comments. Neil's voice makes me HOT! , Holy has the best memory of anyone i know, OMGOMG i heard Leets Voice!! or Carl's gonna be a Dominoes Pizza delivery guy in his next life!
***LOOTING RULES***
1.) Class Loot is used by RL and Officers to determine who the gear is best suited for and who would benefit from it the most. NO EXCEPTIONS!! You are all encouraged to Download this addon yourself, as it is very useful.
2.) All greens, blues, BoE's (that are not a major upgrade) will go to the GB, De'd or Auctioned. This is soley up to RL/Off/GM. They are used to fund our raiding.
3.) Main Spec is FIRST! If noone needs for mainspec, then you can roll for Off spec.
4.) One piece of gear per person /class per run. Once all have received gear, it will be reset and all can roll for second piece of gear.
This is to ensure fairness and so everyone has the chance to leave the raid with a new upgraded piece of gear. If any of you have ever spent several hours in a raid and left empty handed ..zero, ziltch...then you understand this rule, IF you haven't...then be very thankful.
5.) "T" gear is different from the normal gear. If T gear drops, everyone may roll on it, provided you have NOT already won a piece of T gear so far during the raid. You may keep rolling for T gear until you win a piece no matter how many other pieces of regular gear you have won. You may NO Longer roll for T gear once you win ONE piece of it during ONE raid. (One raid constitutes the same raid until it is reset on weekly basis. So if it takes 3 or 4 days to complete the same raid, it is still ONE raid and you may ONLY win one piece of T gear during those days) The only exception to this T gear rule is = there are no other classes to roll against and you win it by default.
T gear also counts as your ONE piece of gear per person. IF you win your very first roll on a piece of T gear, then you may not roll for ANYMORE T gear for the remainder of the raid, but you also cannot roll for any gear in general until EVERYONE gets thier one piece. If these rules are not clear or you have ANY questions, please talk to HolyNymph before accepting any invites, these rules must all make sense and be agreed upon before entering into ANY RAIDS!!
6.) BoE's = Will be treated as follows;
If you NEED it, and i mean absolutely NEEEED it, (like its an amazing upgrade) then by all means, we want you to have it. But, you MUST equip it on the spot. Even if you do not wear it for the remainder of the raid.
If it is only a small upgrade, then more than likely you wont get. In some cases it may take longer then the time alotted to determine what the outcome of the BoE gear , in such a case you will be notified when a decision has been made.
If you already have an epic in the place that the BoE will be replacing, you probably wont get it. You must be replacing a blue or green before it would even be considered.
Please keep in mind, take into account, that although we very much want everyone to get upgrades and be the best possible, these BoE's do fund our Raids. They make it possible for Guild Repairs, fish feasts, repair bots, etc. Once we start with 25 man raids these expenses will add up very quickly. We want to make sure its an upgrade that the guild can afford and will not be easily replaced.
Please , after you've read this, i need you to whisper HolyNymph in game, at any time to prove you have read this completely, and be eligible for future raids
